DESIGNER FOR HIRE - katie rudge

I am excited to say we have a new entry on the Designers For Hire page today, and this is an exciting artist who literally just finished college last week and is keen to get started on any commissions. Katie Rudge is a creative illustrator and pattern designer who is soon to be graduating and exhibiting her work at New Designers in London. Katie loves to create digital collage style prints that have a quirky underlying narrative. Her unique one-of-a-kind approach to design makes her work very fun and playful and appealing to a broad market. She likes to experiment with lots of considered mark making as well as including stylised illustrations filled with fun conversational patterns and bright eye-catching colour palettes. From this her work naturally has a strong care-free, style that has led her to design with children in mind. Katie's work is filled with lots of originality and personality that would bring a smile to anyone’s face. Art directors should get in quick and anyone can see more on Instagram at patternsbykatie_

CARDS - emma bryan

Emma Bryan is freelance illustrator creating designs for editorial and licensing, but it was on an art retreat to Sardinia in 2017 where she was inspired to bring her art to greeting cards, and the plan was hatched to debut her collection at PG Live London 2018.  Emma had a long career in graphic design before following her dream to become a full time illustrator.  She creates charming feminine designs from her garden studio in London inspired by vintage objects and nature, working with traditional materials plus a smattering of digital magic to pull it all together.  She will be on Stand 659 at PG Live on 5th and 6th June at the Business Design Centre in London.  You can see more of her daily process on Instagram @emmabryandesign or on her website here.

FABRICS - vicky yorke

Vicky Yorke is a surface pattern designer and illustrator who has licensed her bright and playful designs across stationery, homeware, kitchenware, giftware and more. Following the successful launch of her debut fabric collection for Camelot Fabrics, ‘From London With Love’ in December, Vicky is thrilled to announce that her second collection, ‘Village Life’ has now also launched on the Camelot Fabrics website. ‘Village Life’ is a particularly special collection because it was inspired by Vicky’s home in semi-rural Worcestershire, UK. Prints include bold floral blooms from the village allotment, while patterns featuring hens, cockerels, pigs and runner ducks were all inspired by the farm that is a five minute walk from her home. Typography patterns aim to reflect community spirit and all of the charming events that happen in a quintessential English village. Camelot took both collections to Quilt Market in Portland, Oregon from May 18-20. ‘From London with Love’ will be in stores July 2018 with ‘Village Life’ following in October 2018.
